DIY Platform Twin Bed Frame
Platform twin bed frame – If you do your platform bed from recycled materials-especially those where most of the construction is already finished process is a snap, and practically free. As a bonus, you can turn the project as an environmental-you’re not broke, you save the planet. First, sand down two 48- by -40 inch stringer pallets with your electric sander and medium-grit sandpaper.
According to Larson Pallet crating, 48- of -40 is the standard size for the most common grocery store pallet. The standard size of a platform twin bed frame is 39- of -75 inches. Wipe all sawdust particles with a tack cloth on the bottom and the outside of your pallets. Paint the top, sides and bottom of your pallets with latex paint and a brush. Turn the pallet upside down and lay them out on the floor. Butt them up side by side, so that the stringers of each piece to form a continuous line.
Screw the 2-by-4s into the wood that runs along the edges of pallets, working from 2-by-4 side, with 2 1/2-inch wood screws. Secure the metal wheels on all four corners of the platform to each side, spanning the joint between the pallets. Turn your platform twin bed frame over the wheel, the proposed location and center your mattress on top.
